Brea Carlson, MS CCC-SLP, IBCLC

I provide in-home lactation support, education, and assessment in West-Central Indiana. My aim is for my clients to feel confident as parents while we work together to meet their lactation goals.

I have been passionate about the health and well-being of women and adolescent girls since my college days, when I founded a non-profit for heart disease in women. When I was pregnant with my first child, I was fascinated by everything I read about lactation and breastfeeding.

Before that baby was born, I had thought about becoming a lactation consultant. After all the incredible support I received during my difficult pregnancies and challenging early breastfeeding experiences, I knew I wanted to give other new parents the kind of validation, encouragement, and comfort that I had. I trained as a postpartum doula and became a La Leche League Leader. I am retired from La Leche League and no longer practicing as a postpartum doula, but those experiences and philosophies are apparent in the kind of care I provide my clients.

In addition to my private practice, I work as a speech and feeding therapist at an outpatient clinic.

I have two sons and am married to my college sweetheart. I enjoy exercising, knitting, reading, hiking, acting in theater productions, Netflix binging, and listening to a ludicrous number of podcasts.
